2014 was one hell of a year. It had some super highs: I got married, honeymooned in Europe for a month, was in a few weddings, went to a few more, and started an exciting new direction in my work life. It also had some lows: a tragic death in my family, and another in Wades, health issues, serious car trouble and some pretty un-fun expenses. But without highs and lows life is just boring, so I’m moving on and decided to use the end of the year set up kaitcreative.com with a fresh face in 2015.
Last year I played with a new logo, incorporating watercolour and trying out a different feel, but in reflection it was too focused on just one dimension of what kaitcreative has become. Returning to my original logo felt like the move I needed to make, staying simple, clean and ready to compliment all of my many forms of work.
Cleaning up the website and going simple a black and white design that will let the images of my work shine was a no brainer. It’s not just a design change either, I switched my WordPress framework and am much happier with the faster page loads and more responsive design. I’l definitely be implementing some of those updates in upcoming website projects.
I haven’t decided if my gallery will be back, but for now I’m focused on posting work more regularly than I have in the past, so I’ve opted to remove the gallery as a distraction.
I hope you like the new site and think it’s the improvement I think it is. Leave a comment below and let me know thoughts.
